Teenagers gone WILD??

It is sad to read the papers these few days. Many parents are reporting about their runaway teenagers. As a parent, I cannot imagine how the parents feel to nurture a baby from small and have them run away from home by the time they reach their teens.

I believe many things have gone wrong because of the demand of the modern living. Studies, peer pressures and the lack of time the parents spend with their children. They may have tried their best to give the children a comfortable life. But maybe in the process, money and creature comforts are not what their children want.

Some of the teens turned to drugs, crime and drinking. When the parents find out, the only way is to reconcile, admit their weaknesses, failures and work hard to bring their children back to their normal teen’s life. Unfortunately, not every parents can accept the situation and sometimes drove their kids even further away.

In the US, they have a center to help the recovery of teen drug abuse. I guess if the parents can afford it, they will enroll their child for proper help and most important of all, provide the children their unending support and love beyond the boundaries. Then, there may be a flicker of hope for a healthy, happy family again.

Otherwise, the parents have only themselves to blame when their children who are under the responsibilites turn to drugs, alchohol, crime, runaway and other social problems.
